Challenges

  • Legacy Systems: IID was using outdated legacy systems that hindered its ability to scale and provide seamless services to its users.
  • Security Vulnerabilities: Internal IT audits revealed security vulnerabilities and non-adherence to cloud best practices, posing a risk to the business.
  • Resource Optimization: The organization needed to optimize its IT spending while maintaining high performance and availability.
  • Lack of Documentation: There was no comprehensive documentation on cloud deployments and resource utilization for each application, inherited from the other vendor.
  • Scalability: As the user base grew, IID required scalable solutions to handle increased demand without compromising performance.

Offering

Sileo Technologies partnered with IID to modernize its IT infrastructure using AWS services. The implemented solutions included:

  • Cloud Migration: Leveraged AWS Data Migration Service to transition legacy systems to a modern cloud environment, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Restructuring Deployments: Deployments were restructured and modified based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework and internal audit findings, ensuring a robust and secure cloud architecture.
  • Comprehensive Documentation: The entire cloud landscape was documented, including frameworks, versions, AWS resources, and architecture diagrams. This provided clarity and a valuable reference for the IT team.
  • Cost Optimization: Utilized AWS Lambda for serverless computing to reduce infrastructure costs and deployed Amazon RDS for cost-effective database management for IID.
  • Scalability: Developed cloud-native applications that can automatically scale to meet demand using AWS Lambda, ensuring seamless user experiences during peak times.
  • Enhanced Monitoring and Incident Management: Monitoring and incident management were streamlined with proper metrics and standard SLAs. Detailed monthly reports on cloud consumption, alerts, and incident.

Impact

  • Enhanced Performance: The migration to AWS resulted in improved application performance and reduced downtime.
  • Improved Security: With AWS WAF and compliance management, IID achieved a higher level of data security and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Cost Reduction: A 15- 20% reduction in cloud spending was achieved without compromising on performance and security.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Comprehensive documentation empowered the IT team with deeper insights, reducing dependency on external vendors and enabling informed decision-making.
  • Scalability: The new scalable infrastructure allowed IID to handle increased demand without compromising service quality.

Conclusion

Through its partnership with Sileo Technologies, IID successfully modernized its IT landscape, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective operations. This transformation enabled IID to better serve its community and support the growth of small businesses.
